76ers 2018-19 Season by the Numbers

The magic number is $130M.  The 2018-19 NBA Season will see a “soft” Salary Cap of $108 million with the Luxury Cap starting after $130M. Before we can begin discussing potential free agents, sign and trade deals etc. we must first understand the numbers.

 

First let’s look at the players signed with the 76ers through next season.

Sixers ranked 22nd in salary in 2017-18 NBA Season ($101,151,770)

The Luxury Tax should be no issue for the 76ers front office over the next several offseasons. However starting in 2020 they have to secure both Simmons and Saric while managing Embiid contract and hopefully a looming payday for Fultz. Not to mention hopefully 1-2 big time free agents that the team brings in over the next two year span. Even with rising salary caps, cap management will be one of the most discussed topic over the next 5-7 year period. Let the discussions begin.
