Injuries:

History: Four-star recruit out of powerhouse Booker T. Washington in Miami, FL. An All-State selection as a senior, he helped lead the team to a state title. Was suspended between the 2015 and 2016 season for what was originally reported as “schoolwork” but later was revealed as a sexual assault case. The accuser reported it to Florida’s student conduct and conflict resolution office, but not Gainesville police. Callaway was found not responsible by an independent hearing officer in a Title IX hearing. The attorney in this case was Jake Schickel, a former Florida track and field athlete, who has donated money to the football and basketball programs. Callaway testified that he was high on marijuana at the time of the incident and that he was “so stoned I had no interest in having sex with anyone”. Was involved in a credit card scam with teammates, where they used stolen credit cards to add money to their bookstore accounts, where they would buy and sell items. Was dismissed from the team and missed all of 2017. Had a daughter, Aulani, born in February.

Strengths: Great athlete. Fast, quick footed, and higher jumper. Dangerous weapon whenever he touches the ball. Catches the deep ball exceptionally well. Secures the ball as a runner, looks like a running back. Fluid runner who doesn’t loose speed during cuts. Excellent punt returner. Ultimate weapon. Shined in the big moments.

Weaknesses: Raw. Size, on the shorter side with short arms. Not a natural hands catcher, lets a lot of balls get into his body. Can be subject to big hits, not getting down as a ball carrier. Character concerns need to be deeply vetted.

Overview: Antonio Callaway has all the talent in the world. He has blazing speed, quick feet, and is versatile. Unfortunately, he has seriously character concerns that will need to be vetted. I imagine he is off the board for a number of teams, this will really hurt his draft stock.
