History: Three-star recruit out of Tampa, FL. He was named team MVP his Senior season at Gaither High School.
Strengths: Ideal size and length. Good closing speed. Excellent short area quickness. Good eyes and plays the ball well in front of him. Great timing on the ball, had 18 pass break ups the last 2 years. Good zone instincts and recognizing route patterns. Versatile, has been moved around during his time in Happy Valley. Has the size that could have some teams thinking safety.
Weaknesses: Footwork is good but not great, could benefit from some good coaching. Could have some issues handling legit speed, without help overtop. Doesn’t seem very interested in mixing it up in the run game, doesn’t play to his size as much as you’d like. Wasn’t asked to play much press coverage. Inexperienced. Only a one year starter, but contributed behind current NFL players.
Overview: A tall and long corner, that is at best when asked to make plays with the ball in front of him. He would best fit in as a zone corner for a team that runs a lot of cover 3. I think he could be one of the surprises in the draft. He was round 1 potential, but could be an early day 2 pick. He reminds me a lot of Cowboys 2017 2nd Round pick, Chidobe Awuzie.
