Injuries:

History: Played both sides for Benedictine High School, he was All-State WR as a Senior. Also a four-year letterman in basketball and competed in track. Will forego his Senior season, has declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Strengths: Excellent length. Gets his hands on and re-routes receivers. Physical. Not afraid to mix it up. Aggressive in run support, who is a consistent wrap up tackler and can also bring a little pop. Good awareness, makes good plays on the man. High energy player.

Weaknesses: Footwork is a little choppy. Play strength is average. Still a little raw as a cornerback. Has some balance issues when flipping his hips. Has trouble getting off blocks, can easily be taken out of the play.

Overview: Layne is an outside corner, that is a plus athlete and offers good size and length. He is still new to the position and needs to work on his transitions, but he has good upside.
