Accolades: 2014 Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year, 2018 Second-team All-ACC,
Injuries:
History: Won State Titles in 2013 and 2014. Also played Tight End, and basketball.
Strengths: Great size, thick build. Strong at the point of attack, holds his ground. Strong punch, can really jolt back pass blockers. Has been lined up everywhere along the line of scrimmage. Extremely active hands. Keeps feet churning. Aggressive. Motor is relentless.
Weaknesses: Average athlete. Lateral movement, bend, and change of direction skills are average. Won’t beat linemen with speed. A lot of tightness.
Overview: Allen is a physical edge rusher that hustles on every play. He is thick, especially his lower half, and his strength is a plus. He is active on both run and pass downs. Although his film shows him running around like a mad man, his athleticism is average. He should provide an immediate spark for a team looking for a solid strong-side DE, that can shift inside on pass downs.
Draft Projection: Mid Day Two Pick
