History: Five-star recruit from Springfield, MA. Also played basketball.
Strengths: Good size. Good get off. Active hands as a pass rusher. Good lateral movement/change of direction skills. Has the ability to stunt around the edge. Motor runs hot. Consistently fighting to get free in pass rush. Has some experience on the edge. Has a good range of pass rush moves.
Weaknesses: Has trouble getting off blocks. Doesn’t appear to have ideal length. Isn’t the strongest at the point of attack. Can get moved too easily in the run game. Athleticism is good not great.
Overview: Wilkins is a good one gap penetrating defensive tackle, ideally suited as a 3 technique in a base 4-3. He has good size and quickness, and he’s constantly bringing his all. He doesn’t have the elite athleticism you see from some DTs, and he gets bullied too often in the run game.
