History: Five-star recruit from Buford, GA. Attended Lanier High School where he recorded 106 tackles, 42 TFL, and 12 sacks as a Senior to win Georgia State Player of the Year. Also played basketball in high school.
Strengths: Massive body with brute upper body strength, and long arms. Team Captain. Gifted athletically for a man his size. Quick get off. Versatility to play multiple gaps, Auburn used him as a 1T, 3T, and 5T at times. Requires constant double teams in the run game. Resets the LOS at will, will get a ton of pressures and disrupt the run game immediately. Has the upper body strength to toss guys like rag dolls. Makes it hard on linemen to get a grip on him, due to his upper body and lower body moving in unison across face.
Weaknesses: Below average change of direction skills, that effect pass rush, as well as tackle range. Lacks counters as a pass rusher. Numbers never took the next step, expected sacks to raise after his sophomore season, but they stayed on par for 2 more years.
Overview: Brown is a disruptive plug and play DT for any defense. While he may never produce big sack numbers, his impact doesn’t go unnoticed on tape. He best fits as a 1-technique shooting the A gap and immediately resetting the LOS. I don’t know how high his ceiling is, but his floor is pretty damn high.
