Misc. Stats:

Accolades: MS State Champion,

Injuries: Minor shoulder shoulder after 2017 season.

History: Five-star recruit out of Noxubee County High School. A video surfaced of him beating a woman during his recruiting process. Now visits schools in the area to give motivational speeches.

Strengths: Looks the part,  very strong (has bench 450+ lbs, squat 600+ lbs, with 15% body fat). Pushes the pocket, constantly requiring double teams to block him. Movement skills are impressive for his size. Good initial quickness. Good pad level. Quick and violent hands. Has room to add bulk. Does a good job working down the line in the run game. Good tackler.

Weaknesses: Could do a better job anchoring, especially on double teams. Needs to bring the same intensity every play. Still raw. Has had some character concerns in the past, but seems like he has changed his life around. Doesn’t look like he has elite length.

Overview: Strong, quick, and disruptive defensive tackle. Simmons is still raw, and needs to work on his pass rush repertoire and anchoring in the run game. He projects as a future pro bowl player, best suited as a 3-technique in a 40 front.
