History. Three-star recruit from Portland. Prepped at David Douglas High School, where he also wrestled. Has three brothers, 2 on Oregon State’s wrestling team, the third is 2015 Giant’s third round pick Owa Odighizuwa. Participated in the 2021 Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Strengths: Disruptive. Heavy and large hands (10 3/8″). Very active with club and rip moves. Plays with good leverage. Secondary rush effort is outstanding. Despite his lack of height, he does have long arms (34″ arms, 83 1/2″ wingspan). Quick feet, and loose hips. Good range, can make plays outside the box. Motor runs hot.
Weaknesses: Undersized. Doesn’t have the lower body strength or mass to anchor in place. Going to get pushed around on the interior. Gets stuck on blocks too often. Out of control plan of attack.
Overview: Odighizuwa played on the interior at UCLA, but to me he’s a 7-tech. He’s stuck in between positions, he doesn’t have the mass to play on the inside, and although long armed, he’s on the shorter side to play a 5-technique. He’s got starter potential, and should be able to be mixed in on some rush downs from the get. He’s not going to be a scheme fit for everyone, but someone is going to love him for what they do.
