History: Four-star recruit out of Boynton Beach High School. Started almost immediately at Louisville, playing in 12 games as a freshmen, starting 8. His father passed away when he was young. His mother has done her best to keep him on the correct path, keeping him out of the media spotlight. She has played the role of his advisor throughout his career.
Strengths: Elite athleticism, both long speed and quickness. Jackson was advised (by his mother) not to run combine drills so teams don’t view him as anything but a QB. Strong arm, balls come out quick. Naturally flicks the ball, reminds you of Mike Vick. Natural thrower. Has improved from a mental aspect every year. Highly productive, the rushing yards are more than both Barkley and Guice. Excellent field vision as a runner. Could be an ultimate RPO weapon. Improv Houdini.
Weaknesses: Still makes some poor decisions. Sometimes takes off after just one read. Could stand to add some weight, thin framed. Will need to learn when the play is over at the next level. Mechanics need to be retooled.
Overview: Jackson is an elite athlete with a strong arm and natural flick of the wrist. Although improving every year, he still needs to work on his progressions, before pulling it down and running. With today’s game leaning towards more RPO, Jackson can become a steal for a team as almost the forgotten QB. Don’t be surprised to see him get drafted earlier than projected, it only takes one team to love him.
