Misc. Stats:

Accolades: 2017 2nd-team All-Pac 12,

Injuries: Achilles tendon injury in high school.

History: Three-star recruit, from Menlo Park, CA. Also a sprinter and RB at Sacred Heart Prep.

Strengths: Good eyes and anticipation in zone coverage. Has a good sense of routes in breaking underneath. Long speed is good. Slips through blocking attempts well, despite not having elite quickness. Has a great motor. Aggressive. Great competitor.

Weaknesses: Undersized. Play strength is a concern. When he can’t dodge a block, he gets blown up or swallowed and is taking out of the play. Hit power is lacking. Fluidity is questionable, especially in the open field. Has one speed, would like to see more closing burst. Would be a liable in man coverage vs anyone, due to lack of athleticism.

Overview: Kirven doesn’t have the athleticism you’d like for a LB his size. He’s a smart player and always runs hot. His grit, toughness and aggressiveness will get him drafted, but not before day 3. Special teams coaches will be banging the table for this guy.

Draft Projection: Mid-Late Day 3
