Injuries: Missed 2016 with a shoulder injury.
History: Three-star safety recruit from High Point, NC. Played Safety and Wide Receiver in High School. Added 40+ pounds since his freshmen year.
Strengths: Great size, has put a lot of muscle since coming in as a safety prospect. Appears long on tape. Explosive first step. Long speed is good, when he gets into the open field, particularly running down the LOS. Attacks when in pursuit. Good tackler, consistently wraps up. Zone coverage is a plus, due to safety experience. Team captain.
Weaknesses: Trouble getting off blocks. Has ants in his pants when reading plays. Tight in his hips, lateral ability is a complete liability. His stance in man coverage, it’s almost like he compensates for his tight hips. Needs to get stronger and work on his hand usage and getting off blocks.
Overview: Pratt is a different player when he’s reacting, rather than processing. I think his best fit would be inside as a 3-4 linebacker in base. He should make an immediate impact on special teams, as he gets stronger. He shows glimpses of being a capable starter at some point, but he’s still coming into his own as a linebacker.
