Accolades: 2016 Freshmen All-American
History: Three-star recruit from Cocoa, FL. Was a 4A First-team All-State at Cocoa High School. Will forego his Senior season, has declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.
Strengths: Great size with long arms. Great strength. Has done a good job keeping his weight down (was around 380 in high school). Shows good acceleration off the line in the run game. Adequate footwork to get to the next level. Has shown ability to get out in space on screens. Does a good job collapsing the line on down blocks. Shows good balance with a strong lower half. Three-year starter. Experience against top competition.
Weaknesses: Had his fair share of false starts in career. Inconsistent pad level, is high too often. Footwork in the run game need coaching up, needs to do a better job locking on and driving. Can get beat by inside quickness.
Overview: Taylor is a road grader Right Tackle, with surprisingly good feet for his size. I wouldn’t try him at LT, start him on the right side and immediately improve your run game. He still needs to be coached up, but he has the size, length, and plus athleticism.
Draft Projection: Mid-Late First
