History: 4-star recruit out of Potomac, MD. Haskins grew up in New Jersey before moving to Maryland. He attended The Bullis School, where he was the Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year as a Senior. Participated in the Under-Armour Game and the Elite 11 QB camp.
Strengths: Great size, already has an NFL body. Strong arm, can really spin it. Comes out of his hand with great velocity. Has the strength to make all the throws. Decent athlete in the pocket. Can escape some pressure and pick up a first down when needed. Can keep plays alive and buy time with his feet. Has some magic in him, keeps his eyes down field. Stands tall in the pocket, not afraid to take a lick. Good kid, who has been mentored by former Redskin Shawn Springs, as well as Atlanta Falcon WR Mohamed Sanu
Weaknesses: Inexperienced, only a one-year starter. Inaccurate when his feet aren’t stationary. Decision making is a work in progress, takes too many chances that will end up taken to the house at the next level. Completion percentage is somewhat tainted by screens and bubbles. Can pick up some yards here and there, but is far from dynamic as a rummer. Long speed is below average.
Overview: Haskins has the size and arm strength that will get him selected in the first round. He’s still very raw, as he only threw 57 balls up until this year. However, he has been groomed to be an NFL QB since day one, and while the talent is obviously there, he’s still a year or two away from being a solid starter in the league.
