Injuries:
History: Four-star recruit out of Davidson, NC., he was the 2nd ranked duel-threat QB behind Deshaun Watson. He broke the high school record for passing yards in a game, with 837. Grier redshirted in 2014 as Florida and appeared in 6 games in 2015. He received a suspension in 2015 for a banned substance, Grier says it was an over the counter drug. In 2016 he transferred to West Virginia, and sat out the 2016 season per NCAA rules.
Strengths: Natural thrower. Can alter his throwing method when required. Good arm strength. Very good athlete. Escapability, good mobility. Can buy time with his legs both in and out of the pocket. Smart kid, inspiring leader.
Weaknesses: Lacks ideal height. Operates in a QB friendly college system. Tries to do too much at times, where it may not work against NFL speed. Unproven against a lot of zone coverages. Good, not great arm strength.
Overview: Grier is an athletic and smart QB with a good arm. He has natural arm talent and good mechanics. What he lacks in size, he makes up in heart.
