*Combine measurements and drills will be added in Feb.
2015 (at Tulsa): 13 games. 5 tackles, 1 pass break up
2016: (sat out year after transferring to UGA, due to NCAA transfer rules)
2017: 15 games. 79 tackles, 5 TFL, 1.5 sacks, 2 int (48 yards), 5 pass break ups, 1 FF, 1 FR, 1 TD
Accolades: 2017 Second-team All-SEC,
History: Three-star recruit from Plano, TX. Father, Jake played 12 years in the NFL. Played both ways at Prestonwood Christian, Wide Receiver and Safety.
Strengths: Aggressive and tough. Good closing speed in run support. Will try and pop you if he gets the shot. Times up his hits well. Makes good plays on the man when contesting passes (see the int he caused vs Miss St. in 2017). Good understanding of zone concepts. Motor is impressive.
Weaknesses: Recovery speed is lacking for a single high safety. Although always willing to mix it up, play strength seems average. Ball skills aren’t anything special. Might have issues matching up against Tight Ends in man coverage.
Overview: Reed, although lacking athletically, is a smart player. He can be counted on in zone coverage, most notably making plays in front of him. He lacks ball skills and recovery speed to be counted on a single-high coverage.
