Injuries: Ankle injury as a Senior in HS ended his season after one game.
History: Walk-on. Attended Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, TN. Played WR as a junior in HS, before growing 4 inches and gaining 50 pounds. Played 1 game as a QB his Senior season, before missing the remaining of the year with an injury. Three-year track letterman, was part of the 4x200m relay to a state runner-up. Will forego his Senior season, has declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.
Strengths: Size/speed specimen. Good size and length. Very good athlete. Has made some nice adjustments on bad balls. Flexibility and body control are impressive. Can create separation in an instant, fluid mover. Good get off. Shows glimpses of being able to be a good run blocker in his future. Stronger than you’d think.
Weaknesses: Extremely raw, saying he was a late bloomer would be an understatement. Played some WR and QB in High School, 2017 was his first season at a TE. Had 39 career catches and no touchdowns. Has limited experience blocking in-line. You can tell he is still processing too slowly in the run game, it’s just not familiar to him yet. More of a straight line guy, lacks some agility and RAC ability. Isn’t going to juke anyone, or break any tackles.
Overview: Raw, size/speed specimen that still has a ways to go before he could start, let alone contribute in the NFL. Knox has very limited experience at Tight End, with less than 40 career receptions and ZERO touchdowns, although the Rebels offense was a mess most of the year. He has starter potential, I think he goes off the board in the 2nd round, the 3rd or 4th TE off the board.
