Injury History.

History. Three-star recruit from Exeter, NH. Graduated from Exeter High School, before attending prep school Deerfield Academy for one year before college.

Strengths: Ideal size. Big target. Good enough athlete (logged 4.65 40, 32 1/2″ vert, 10’2″ broad). Deceptive straight line speed, that can get to his 2nd gear quickly with long strides. Natural catcher, that makes good adjustments on the ball. Tough going across the middle. Adequate run blocker.

Weaknesses: Average short area quickness/agility. Separation is going to be an issue. Doesn’t have a lot of big play ability. Doesn’t offer a ton after the catch. Needs to get stronger.

Overview: Long is a safe prospect, he’s got good size, decent athleticism, and soft hands. I wish he was a little better in contested catch situations, being that it’s going to be hard for him to separate. He is a high end tight end 2 with potential to be a starter.
