History: Four-star recruit out of Richmond, TX. Attended Foster High School in Richmond, TX. He is originally from New Orleans, but his family was forced to evaluate due to Hurricane Katrina. CeeDee is short for Cedarian.
Strengths: Athleticism is a plus, speed and leaping ability both really good. Makes some incredible grabs. Catches the ball away from his body. Can pluck with the best of them. Ball skills are elite. Can track the ball over his shoulder, makes great adjustments on the ball. Not afraid to take a lick after the catch. Excellent after the catch. Has great vision, knows how to set up defenders to make them miss. He doesn’t have tremendous speed, but understands angles, and deceptively quick. Really tough player to bring down.
Weaknesses: Lacks elite size, and could stand to gain some weight, wiry frame. Not going to provide much in the run game. Could get bullied by bigger corners at the LOS. Played against B12 defenses, which he rarely saw any sort of press coverage.
Overview: Watching CeeDee catch a football is a thing of beauty. I question his overall ceiling a little bit, but his floor is definitely high. He lacks elite size/speed, but makes up for it in pretty much every other category. He is a top 20 pick that starts and contributes immediately for any NFL team. Is he WR1? It’s close, but he slightly nudges out Jerry Jeudy for it.
