Injuries: Dealt with a hip pointer injury in 2019.

History: Four-star recruit from Montgomery, AL. Attended Robert E. Lee where he had 38 rec, for 639 yards and 20 total TDs as a Senior. Participated in the Rivals100 Five-star Challenge. Chose Alabama over Auburn Florida, Florida St., and Michigan.

Strengths: Speed that is rare. Acceleration is absolutely elite. Can take a slant of bubble to the house in the blink of an eye. Defenders that think are too late. Ultimate weapon, that can be used out of the backfield/jet sweeps/screens/etc/etc/etc. Incredibly smooth, natural, fluid runner, who can hit angles most can’t. Experienced Special Teams player, was used as a gunner on punt coverage, as well as in the return game. Excellent leaper, especially for his size. Has great balance as a ball carrier. Big hands (10 1/8″), really good hands catcher. Made some impressive contested catches you wouldn’t expect, from a kid his size.

Weaknesses: Lacks ideal size, limiting his contested catch/RZ ability. Will have trouble getting off the LOS, as well as separating through contact against bigger, physical corners.

Overview: Ruggs is still a bit raw, but his skill set doesn’t come around often. He’s going to get on the field in the same way Mecole Hardman was used last year. You simply can’t keep guys like him on the sidelines in todays game. Ruggs has the ability to take it home, every time he touches the rock. He’ll go in the first round, his immediately impact relies on the creativity of the offensive coaching staff that drafts him.
