Accolades: 2015 Under Armour High School All-Star Game, 2018 First-Team All-Mountain West
Injuries: Suffered torn ACL in 2014.
History: Four-star recruit in 2015 from Lovejoy, GA. He reportedly received more than 25 offers but chose Tennessee. Transferred after two seasons and sat out 2017 due to NCAA rules. Could not practice due to team suspension, after an incident with his then girlfriend, which led to him being arrested. Also competed at track & field in High School and for CSU in the Spring 2017.
Strengths: Good size. Length appears excellent, arms look like limbs. Fluid runner, quick feet. Built up speed is very good, long strider. At times, will show some good concentration on contested balls. Has shown flashes of adjusting to inaccurate balls. Slippery with the ball in his hands. Really good vision with the ball in his hands.
Weaknesses: Still raw, only one year starter. Route running needs work. Release is a work in progress. Gets taken out of the play too easily for someone with his size/athleticism. Hands are inconsistent. Does a poor job separating through contacts during routes, gets hung up too easily. Needs to be more of an aggressor, and set up the contact to his advantage. Does not play with a high motor.
Overview: Williams was a highly touted prospect, coming out of Georgia. Injuries, a transfer, legal troubles and a suspension later, he finally produced this year at CSU. There’s certainly not a lack of talent with him, but he is still extremely raw and would need a little while to get going. The size/speed combo gives him a very high ceiling, his floor could be out of the league in 3 years.
