Final 2016 Mock Draft

4/27/16 Michael(even picks) and Steve(odd picks) This final mock is how we think the 2016 NFL Draft will turn out. In our 2015 mock we hit on 4 picks. We got 8 players in the top 10, and 24 of the first rounders. Here goes nothin’. *To note Patriots forfeit their 2016 1st round pick due to Deflategate “scandal”

Jared Goff
QB, Cal
Rams made the massive deal with Titans to move up to 1 presumably to take Jared Goff.  I wonder if they feel Goff is more suited to play right away as Wentz would seem to fit their offense philosophy more with a power run game and playaction.  Also Fisher had success previously with a heralded D1-aa QB Steve McNair.  However, all indications point towards Jared Goff.

Carson Wentz
QB, North Dakota State
Eagles made a similar but less costly deal to move up to the top of the draft to take the remaining signal caller Carson Wentz.  Wentz has high end physical traits and exhibits dynamic leadership and poise.  The Eagles present a good situation for him with a HC/OC combo who played QB in the NFL and a highly regarded QB coach.  He will also not have pressure to play before he is ready even if Bradford is dealt, as Chase Daniel is an ideal bridge QB for this situation.

Ronnie Stanley,
OT, Notre Dame

Hearing a lot of buzz with Ronnie Stanley being preferred in sunny San Diego over Tunsil. Stanley can step in right away and help block for last year’s first round pick Melvin Gordon.

Jalen Ramsey
CB/S, Florida State
Cowboys desperately need some defensive reinforcements.  Ramsey is a versatile defensive back and is thought to be the top player on their board.

Leonard Floyd
Edge Rusher/LB, Georgia
This might shock some people, just like Stanley going 3. But where there’s smoke there’s fire. Floyd fits the type of player that Gus Bradley loves.

Laremy Tunsil
OT, Ole Miss
Could Ozzie Newsome pass up this type of value?

Deforest Buckner
DL, Oregon
Would team with last years top pick Arik Armstead to form a formidable 5 tech DE combo in their 3-4.  Also, Chip + Oregon player = selected.

Jack Conklin
OT, Michigan State
Think the Browns look to trade down again here.  But for now they go with Jack Conklin to reinforce the OL.  Also, who knows how much longer Joe Thomas will remain in Cleveland.

Joey Bosa
DE, Ohio State
Bosa presents good value for a Tampa team in need of an improved pass rush.

Myles Jack
Giants have been absolutely putrid defensively. They take a chance on perhaps the top talent in the draft with some medical concerns.

Paxton Lynch
QB, Memphis
Bears grab a young QB to sit behind Cutler and hopefully learn what not to do. Cutler can be released after this year with very little dead money. This could be his last year to prove it, if not Lynch is the guy.

Sheldon Rankins
DT, Louisville
There has been late buss for Rankins near the top 10.  Saints could use  3 tech DT.

Ezekiel Elliott
RB, Ohio State
Dolphins would likely be ecstatic if this scenario plays out. Don’t think there’s a chance he lasts till 13 but that’s how we had it play out.

Vernon Hargreaves
CB, Florida
Hargreaves would form a play-making cornerback duo with FA acquisition Sean Smith.

Taylor Decker
OT, Ohio State
Titans picked up a ton of picks from LA, protecting their QB is the most important thing. Him and Taylor Lewan will help out Mariota for years to come.

Jarran Reed
DT, Alabama
Lions have lost some talented DTs in the last few years.  No other players or positions stand out here.

Shaq Lawson
DE, Clemson
Falcons now have a pair of Clemson bookend DEs to get after the QB.

Ryan Kelly
C, Alabama
The colts OL has been a mess.  Kelly could help solidify the interior of the OL for the next decade.

Josh Doctson
Don’t be surprised if the former walk on is the first WR taken off the board, this kid can play. Rex Ryan loves drafting defense but a WR to pair with Sammy Watkins is a huge need. Look for Buffalo to think about QB as well, despite the success of Tyrod Taylor. Maybe their new owner is as Penn State bias as I am.

Eli Apple
CB, Ohio State
Raw but physically gifted, Apple can learn from Revis.  Jets need to tighten up the secondary.

A’Shawn Robinson
DT, Alabama
Robinson provides a run stuffing DT to a team that struggled against the run last year and needs to add some talent to the interior of their DL.

Will Fuller
WR, Notre Dame
Provides another weapon for the re-tooled Texans O.  Also interesting speedy compliment to freak Deandre Hopkins. Fuller is an absolute playmaker, the drop issues are concerning.

Laquon Treadwell
WR, Ole Miss
The Vikings need to bolster the pass game big time. Treadwell will never be a blazer, but he has elite ball skills, size, and strength. Poor man’s Dez.

Darron Lee
LB, Ohio State
The Bengals add the athletic Lee to a linebacker corps that could use some youth and speed.

Karl Joseph
S, West Virginia
Steelers need to help out that secondary. We love Karl Joseph, he’s got first round talent written all over him.

Robert Nkemdiche
DT, Ole Miss
Talent too good to pass up here?  Perhaps they feel their vet locker room keeps him in check.  Versatile player could be a beast in this scheme.

Austin Johnson
DT, Penn State
Austin Johnson is the best DL on the board. He can step in day one and provide GB with a much needed 5 technique DE.

William Jackson III
CB, Houston
Andy Reid has always prioritized lineman and Corners in the draft.   Here, the Chiefs take a second straight corner in the first round to create a nice pairing with Marcus Peters.

Mackenzie Alexander
CB, Clemson
The Cardinals struggled against the pass once the Honey Badger went down.  Alexander, the self proclaimed best cornerback in the draft, can line up at all corner spots.  Best in press man coverage, he could be a good fit with stud Patrick Peterson.

Kevin Dodd
DE, Clemson
Good value here and can always use more pass rushers.  Also seems to fit their mold.

Christian Hackenberg
QB, Penn State
It make’s a lot of sense for the Broncos to acquire a veteran QB (other than Mark Sanchez) so obviously if that happens, this doesn’t. But when you’re set at every position, coming off a super bowl win, and you have a chance to select a QB that at one time was the top QB prospect in the country. Well then scared money don’t make money.

Also in consideration: Reggie Ragland, Corey Coleman, Noah Spence, Vernon Butler, Andrew Billings, Jason Spriggs, Chris Jones,
