Playing GM: Who We Would Pick Mock Draft

This is different from the typical mocks that we do.  Whereas typically we are trying to predict what would happen this will be who we would take if we were drafting.

Michael(odd picks) and Steve(even picks)

*To note Patriots forfeit their 2016 1st round pick due to SpyGate “scandal”

Laremy Tunsil
OT, Ole Miss

Ability to protect franchise QB Marcus Mariota with an excellent pair of bookends in Tunsil and Lewan.  Great set-up to build a top notch offense.

Carson Wentz
QB, North Dakota State

Got to have a QB in this league and RG3 is not a long term option. You could argue that Cleveland just needs players now and can wait until next year as they’ll likely be selecting high again.

Myles Jack

Total game breaking talent that can do a plethora of tasks on defense.  Perfect LB prospect for today’s NFL.  Go watch him cover slot WRs with ease on draftbreakdown

Jalen Ramsey
DB, Florida ST

Ramsey is the best player on the board for Dallas and at a need position. He can have an immediate impact, with the ceiling of a Patrick Peterson.

****TRADE: Ravens trade 5 to Eagles for 8, 3rd rounder, 5th rounder****
 Jared Goff
QB, Cal
Doug Pederson trades up to get his guy to groom for a year. Having an extra 3rd rounder allows them to make this move. Don’t be surprised to see the Eagles move up, whether that’s for a QB or not remains to be seen.

Vernon Hargreaves III
CB, Florida

They need help on defense.  Hargreaves adds some much needed talent to a struggling secondary.

Deforest Buckner
DT, Oregon

Buckner is a prototypical scheme fit as a 5 tech for the Niners 3-4 defense.   Plus I make Chip happy by selecting an Oregon player.

****TRADE:  Eagles trade 8, 3rd rounder, 5th rounder to Ravens for 5****

Joey Bosa
DE, Ohio State
Pairing Bosa with prize FA Malik Jackson and last years top pick Dante Fowler gives a massive boost to a Jags defensive that needs to improve.

****Tampa Bay trades 9 to St Louis for 15 and a 2nd rd pick****
Paxton Lynch
QB, Memphis

Many may consider this a reach here but do like his potential and St Louis desperately needs a QB.  Lynch provides a very dynamic skill-set with his height, athleticism, and arm strength.  Will definitely need to sit and learn for at least a year.

Ronnie Stanley
OT, Notre Dame

Eli Manning only has so many more elite years left before he starts looking like his older brother. Grabbing a tackle that can immediately help protect him would be huge for the Giants in 2016.

Ezekiel Elliott
RB, Ohio St

Well rounded back and probably a more suited pick around here than higher up.

Sheldon Rankins
DT, Louisville

Rankins is one of the best D-Linemen in this years draft. The saints desperately need someone that can clog up the middle.

William Jackson III
CB, Houston
Very intriguing corner prospect.  Good measurables and good tape.

Robert Nkemdiche
DT, Ole Miss

The raiders taking a gamble on a talented troubled player? Never…lol.  Nkemdiche could form and incredibly dynamic defensive front with Aldon Smith and Kahlil Mack.  Wouldn’t be surprised if he has a draft day tumble as he apparently came across poorly in combine interviews with teams.  He does already have 19 pre-draft visits set up with teams as they will try to figure him out.

****St Louis trades 15 and a 2nd rd pick to Tampa Bay for 9****

Corey Coleman
WR, Baylor

Electric game-breaking WR.  Winston will love throwing to him and Evans.  Needs to be coached up on route running but if he lives up to his potential he reminds me of Steve Smith.

****Detroit trades 16 to Indianapolis for 18 and a 4th rd pick****

Jack Conklin
OT, Michigan ST

The Colts move up here ahead of Atlanta to grab the best player left on their board. They need to give Andrew Luck time, and Conklin brings the toughness and effort to help that.

Darron Lee
LB, Ohio St

Atlanta desperately needs to add talent and playmaking to their defense and specifically LB corps.  Lee is incredibly  athletic and is a good fit for today’s NFL.

****Indianapolis trades 18 and a 4th rd pick to Detroit for 16****

A’Shawn Robinson
DT, Alabama

Detroit grabs and extra 4th from Indy and pairs a “meat” with Haloti Ngata, that allows Ziggy Ansah to run around like a mad man even more.

Andrew Billings
NT, Baylor

Billings has great stength and athleticism for his size.

Reggie Ragland
LB, Alabama

.This is such a Rex Ryan pick, but Ragland can play.

Jarron Reed
DT, Alabama

Jarron Reed provides a run stuffing DT to a team that struggled against the run last year and needs to ass some talent to the interior of their DL.

Laquon Treadwell
WR, Ole Miss

The Texans got a QB and a RB in free agency. Pairing a big wideout with Nuk on the other side can make them an elite offense in the NFL.

Josh Doctson

The Vikings need to improve their passing game to take pressure off AP and build a more balanced offense.  Doctson is a well rounded WR with great ball skills.

Kevin Dodd
DE, Clemson

The Bengals add the athletic Lee to a linebacker corps that may lose some players in FA.

Vernon Butler
DT, Louisiana Tech

Butler is a versatile prospect that would be a good fit with the Steelers, who mixed it up last year showing multiple defensive fronts.

Noah Spence
DE, Eastern Kentucky

The Seahawks struggled on the offensive line last year.  Adding to this fact is the off injured Russell Okung potentially leaving in free agency.  Spriggs is an athletic prospect who would be a good fit for Seattle.

Leonard Floyd
Edge Rusher, Georgia

Very raw but immense potential.  Good situation where he can learn and develop without pressure to step in right away.

Will Fuller
WR, Notre Dame

Walrus needs playmakers and Fuller, despite his drops, brings playmaking ability. Hopefully losing elite “playcaller” Doug Pederson doesn’t kill their offense…

Ryan Kelly
C, Alabama

The Cardinals need to improve their interior OL.  Kelly can step in right away and contribute.

Taylor Decker
OT, Ohio St

Decker isn’t in the same sentence as the 3 Tackles to go before him, but he can provide some help to a line that needs it. Cam can’t run around forever, he fits their style.

Shaq Lawson
DE, Clemson

Like this defense needs another playmaker, they go and grab one.
